We have noticed that our fish population has been depleting this summer and suspected a racoon was the culprit. The other night we heard one squeal in a rumble with a wiggling fish and, of course, the fish lost! We saw him licking his chops and paws on one of our big rocks in the flower beds. Dad wrote to John Hedman who has a trap, and happily, John called us (very fun to hear his voice) and offered his trap. And so you can see from the pictures that our second attempt was sucessful. The first attempt was not as Rocky walked in the trap, took the can of chicken and walked out. Dad set it to released a little more gingerly and VOILA. John used to drag the trap into his pond and drown the racoon...but we are not into that. So Dad called the animal control team and they will come get Rocky today. Racoons are so smart. He has tried for hours to figure away out of this trap. He pretty much dug up all the grass under the cage so Dad dragged it onto the patio. We'll have to set it again to make sure we don't have a community of racoons in our backyard. Too bad for Rocky...he should have left my fish ALONE!

I love that you named him! And I also love that you aren't into dragging him into the pond. Glad you figured out the culprit though!
