Becky and Brenton Bacon

Becky Jacobson (Bill's niece) and Brentin Bacon were married in the Denver Temple on August 5th, 2011. Bill and I left Lake Powell and our family two days early to be there for the ceremony. It was so good to see this side of the family that unfortunately, we so rarely see. (Becky is Nancy's (Bill's sister) youngest child.) It was a very happy occasion but tender at the same time as I could not help but think of her brothers, Matt and Brian, who both passed away in terrible accidents some years ago. They must have been present for the sealing of their sister and as I sat next to Matt's wife, Alison (who has since remarried) I could not help but think that she felt Matt's presence as well. She cried and I'm sure she had thoughts of the unexpected turn her life had taken and of what could have been. Very difficult. But the love that shone in the eyes of Becky and Brentin filled the room and was so beautiful to see.
And here is Nancy's posterity...(from the left to right) Nicholas (Helen's), Emma and Mary in white (Alison's), Alison behind them and her oldest child, Ethan. These are Matthew and Alison's children. Then comes Nancy and Paul. Nancy is holding Sophie who is Helen's youngest, then Matthew, Helen, Christian, and Claire (Helen's family). Our children are the only cousins Becky and Helen have. We need to narrow the distance between them.
Bill and his sister, Nancy Jacobson, who is the only full blood sibling he has. She is a terrific woman who has had her heart broken twice and can still spread cheer to everyone around her. It's easy to love Nancy.

Well, it was a wonderful, but LONG day. Bill and I arrived in St. George from Lake Powell the night before, then arose at 5:00 a.m. to drive to Las Vegas to catch a morning flight to Denver to attend the wedding. We had booked the last flight out of Denver on the wedding day, but unfortunately, the flight turned out to be too early for us to attend the wedding dinner that night. (It started at 6:00.....but dinner and program was actually not scheduled until after 7:00....too tight for us.) It was a poor choice to not stay overnight in Denver, but rather we chose to fly back to Las Vegas, grab a quick In and Out Burger and drive back to St. George. We arrived at 1:30 a.m. Quite an exhausting, but wonderful day!
