On the Road Again!

 

David, William, Sadie, Miles and Weston ran in the Boise Potato race this spring and crossed the finish line with smiles on their faces.  The kids ran the 5k and David ran the 10k.  The race followed the Boise River along the beautiful green belt and looked very inviting.  I could WALK a 5k!  Maybe next year.

 

Grampa and I cheered Will and Weston and Parker and Zach in their last soccer games of the season.

Michael took the boat and the kiddies...plus two old kiddies...out on Lake Lowell for the afternoon after the games.  The water was cold, so the kids fished for awhile and then got out on the tube for the first run of the summer!  Brings back so many memories of summer family boating with our kids years ago...seems like yesterday!

Michael turned 34 on May 19th, so Mindy and Tara Newhouse (Michael's special gal!) gave him a party!  Café Rio salads (homemade) for all!  Boys ate on the front porch and the girls ate on the back patio.

Home for a week and then we headed south to St. George and beyond to see our Henderson family.

 

Sophie danced brilliantly in her year end recital...jazz, ballet and hip hop...all great.  She was born to dance!  (The picture above was taken on a bench next to an Icy or Frosty shack.  Sophie had a second recital, so we missed having her in our picture. ) It was fun to see the remodel changes Ryan and Julie had made in their beautiful home and to be with this darling family. 

 

 

Back to St. George for a short night's sleep.  We mistakenly thought we were going to make it through our St. George stay without a mishap, but alas, on the very last night, a large lizard crawled up the privacy screen that Bill likes to lower over the front doors at night, and apparently, when Bill raised the screen the following morning, the lizard was squished (not the bad news), but his dead body somehow caused the whole screen to come off it's track...something Bill will address on our next trip.  There is ALWAYS a problem!!
