We LOVE hiking around the area here in St. George! It was a beautiful day today and our kind neighbors, Lori and Bill Hammons, took us (The Hedmans and Shipps) on a wonderful hike over fantastic rock formations and through a slot canyon. Here we came upon a wall of Indian petroglyphs dating to around 700-800 a.d.! Very cool!
An interesting view at every turn! More petroglyphs below us.
This ancient oak tree twisted and turned its way out of the slot canyon.
Isn't this little canyon fabulous? More petroglyphs on the wall.
This was another hike earlier in the week. The trailhead was closeby our house (4 wheel drive required to get there, however) and the hike took us along a ridge separating two ravines.
The picture didn't capture the panorama that was behind us to our left. It was serene and vast!
