Hiking in St. George

We LOVE hiking around the area here in St. George! It was a beautiful day today and our kind neighbors, Lori and Bill Hammons, took us (The Hedmans and Shipps) on a wonderful hike over fantastic rock formations and through a slot canyon. Here we came upon a wall of Indian petroglyphs dating to around 700-800 a.d.! Very cool!

This was another hike earlier in the week. The trailhead was closeby our house (4 wheel drive required to get there, however) and the hike took us along a ridge separating two ravines.

The picture didn't capture the panorama that was behind us to our left. It was serene and vast!

The lizard like rock on the left side of this picture marked the opening to the coolest cave! Loved it! A picture doesn't really capture the scope of what our eyes can see, but they sure help us remember the experience. Many times when I'm hiking, I think of the Creation and how even our Creator must have stood back occasionally and enjoyed the VIEW!
