On the Prowl

Bill and I are trying to out smart "one" rock chuck that has taken up residency in our water fall. I say "one" because rock chucks live in colonies and each male usually has four mates by summer and each mother has 4-5 offspring! We saw one sunning on the rocks this morning, so we bought a trap at Lowe's tonight, set it up...complete with tuna and lettuce and we'll see what happens. He should be up in the mountains where he could live happily ever after.

Bill is also on the hunt for our resident bull frog that keeps him awake ALL night with his croaking... which is a far cry from "rrrribit!"  He sounds like a bullhorn....which is obviously how they got their name! I like him as he adds a "natural" feel to our man-made pond, but Bill is determined to find him and take him off. I think the frog may win this one. We need Sadie to help us track him down!
With the dragon flies, hummingbirds, fish and assorted other birds it's very relaxing out back.
