Fall Family Fun!

The last couple of weeks have been very fun with Mindy's family coming to town and Gramma and Grampa going to Boise for a long weekend. The Johnson's came down for BYU Homecoming and we all had a fun filled weekend. We drove down to Provo and attended the BYU Spectacular with guest performer, Brian Stokes Mitchell (I'm a big fan!) and the next day Charlie and Henry stayed with Gramma and Grampa while the rest went off to the BYU Football game where the kids were all surprised by Ryan, Sophie and Tyler's surprise appearance!
The rest of the weekend was mainly home time with a fall puzzle being completed and playing lots of games. Here Mindy and Henry play "Sorry."
Grampa refereed the arm wrestling match with Weston and Will...two very strong 7 year olds!
We tried to coax Bill into jumping up on the Brigham Young statue as he once did for a great cheerleading photo in 1970, but he was not convinced to repeat the picture at 63! Before the Spectacular we also visited the Bean Natural History museum, new to me and fabulous, and had dinner where once was the Cougar Eat and is now a commercial food court...definitely not progress...no charm there. Very sad! We had a great time with the Johnsons...and then a few days later...we headed to Boise!
While the men went golfing (is anyone surprised?) the rest of us headed to the Farmstead...a farmer's field that was transformed into a fall festival with all kinds of activities. Here we went on a "straw"ride to pick out free pumpkins.
Henry, Kate, Ellie, Abby and Ava. Cute picture and cute kids!
Gramma and cutie pie, Charlie.
The kids enjoyed the animals, mazes, corn pit...lots of fun on a beautiful day! The adults went out to dinner at PF Chang's and the next day was game day.
Bill and I went to Parker and Zach's last soccer game (Unfortunately, Will and Weston played football at the same time on a field too far away to catch both games.)
And to Miles football game. So fun to see him out on the field in his uniform having a great time.
Then Saturday night, the Boise families gathered at Adam and Steph's (where we stayed this time) to watch the BYU game (nice win) and the BSU game (#5 in the nation!) Lots of good eats for all!
Sunday was the Johnson's Children's Sacrament Meeting program, so we attending their ward, and then that afternoon we all gathered back at Adam's for a yummy chili dinner. The crazy thing about our visits to Boise is that all dinners become a BIG family gathering. We want to be with EVERYONE! I so appreciated Steph and Adam for their graciousness in hosting our family dinners this weekend and for making us feel so comfortable the whole weekend.
Monday morning we made a quick run over to Dr. Shipp's for a teeth cleaning and exam....and unfortunately, did not get a clean bill of health. We'll be going back for a little follow-up work...but then that's another reason to head back to Boise! The city was beautiful with the fall leaves in full color...as they are here right now. Breathtaking! I LOVE AUTUMN! And I loved being with 3/4 of our family! We are so blessed!
